  • At Calypso we publish cards by artists from all over the world – tell us where you grew up and where you live and work.
I grew up in Kentucky but since my early twenties I have lived in several countries and consider myself to be more of a global citizen rather than any particular connection to any particular place.

  • What is your work environment like, do you have a home studio? An ocean view? What sort of music do you like to listen to while you work?

Yes, I am fortunate to have a nice cozy studio at home. I used to have an ocean view now I have a tree view 😊 Definitely love music, all different genres, however, I prefer to paint and create without listening to music. It helps me to zone out and really immerse myself into the creative process without distraction.

  • How is your day structured as a working artist?
Pretty much like any work day, wake up early have coffee, eat, check emails then begin creating!

I have always been active as an artist even if it was on the side with regard to selling and commissions. The “career” part occurred about 5 years ago when we began pursuing online art avenues.

Back in University having an art piece chosen out of a nationwide juried pool of young artists to be a part of an education book about drawing and the creative process

  • What is your earliest memory of creating art?
Around 3years old I was always drawing and creating art….I was fortunate to be born into a very creative family – mother, father and sister all very talented.

  • What is your favorite medium?
No favorite mediums, depends on what I’m creating. It could be Oil Paints one day Acrylic the next or water color or mixed media or purely digital art….

  • How has your style changed over time?
It has become more complex technique wise and positive in color choice and subject manner….

  • Of all the cards we publish by you, do you have a favorite?
